What compares to the glory of someone who knows you and loves you inside and out? Aminah and Danielle teamed up to create Brooklyn Queen Connection, a project devoted to the joys of friendship and gems of both the physical and metaphorical kind. The nearly lifelong friends have exchanged homemade gifts, including friendship bracelets, since meeting as 7th graders growing up in Brooklyn. Each queen brings the unique talents they have cultivated over the years to the bracelets. Aminah earned her BS in Fashion Merchandising and designed the logo, which features a silhouette of herself as a little one. Danielle is a gemologist and curates the stunning array of vintage beads and genuine gemstones that characterize the collection.
Also featured on the bracelets are messages that celebrate affection and other facets of intimate connections. One readers “Hugger,” like a med alert bracelet to identify those who crave the perfect squeeze. Another pronounces “I Love Me,” the tagline for Aminah’s personal brand of self-love themed attire and accessories. The “Reader” bracelet honors bookies and tarot card enthusiasts alike. Whatever you appreciate in a friend, you’ll find a message to represent it in the Brooklyn Queen Connection.
